Restoring Iowa Jobs’ mission is to promote job growth in Southeast Iowa. The southeast region has experienced significantly higher unemployment rates than the rest of the state. Lee County’s unemployment rate, at six percent, is nearly two points higher than the overall average in Iowa.
As businesses look to build or relocate to the area, we want to support them within the community. Jobs are scarce and we need to encourage economic development!
WHY SE Iowa?
This portion of the state has access to the Mississippi River, multiple interstate systems and Highway 61, making for easy transportation of the Iowa’s goods. Iowa offers the nation’s sixth-lowest state overall cost for doing business and the Southeast Iowa region leads the movement to get that remarkable figure even lower.
